The Victor VCT0330-0012 is a 101 cutting tip, size 0, acetylene, brass, 1/2 inch cutting capacity.

At 1/2 inch capacity this is probably the most-used tip size there is, because half-inch plate is the workhorse thickness in fabrication.

The 101 series designation is worth explaining. Victor's tips are series-specific: a 101 tip fits a particular family of torches, and it is not interchangeable with tips from another series. Getting that wrong is not a fit problem that reveals itself — a tip that seats imperfectly leaks, and a leaking oxy-fuel connection is a fire.

So the series is the first thing to verify, ahead of the size.

The one-piece construction that the 101 uses is worth noting too. In a one-piece tip, the preheat and cutting oxygen passages are machined into a single component. Two-piece tips — used for propane and other alternate fuels — have a separate insert, because those gases need a different mixing arrangement. That is why the fuel gas and the tip design go together, and why an acetylene tip is not a propane tip.

Acetylene's rule: never above 15 psi. Above that the gas decomposes explosively without oxygen.

Keep the orifices clean. A deformed orifice cuts a bevel.
