The TurboTorch TBT0386-0365 is a replacement tip, MSA-8 type, 3/8 inch.

The MSA series is the self-lighting range, and that is the specification.

A self-lighting tip carries a striker built into the tip assembly — the torch is lit by operating a trigger rather than by holding a flint striker in the other hand. That sounds like convenience and it is a real improvement in a specific situation: working overhead, in a crawlspace, on a ladder, or anywhere a second hand is not available.

It also removes the moment that causes burns. Lighting a torch with a separate striker means putting a hand into a stream of fuel gas at the tip, and the ignition is not always gentle. A self-lighting tip keeps the hand on the handle.

The trade is complexity. There is a mechanism in the tip, and mechanisms in a torch tip live in heat, get dropped, and eventually stop working. A self-lighting torch with a failed igniter is a torch that needs a striker anyway, so one still lives in the bag.

The 3/8 inch figure is the tip size, which is a heat rating matched to the mass of the joint.

Note that the gas type is not stated. Tips are gas-specific and the wrong gas risks flashback. Verify.
