The Kotap ADPTRA1216 is an Alliance Economy Utility Tarp in a 12' x 16' size, finished in blue, constructed as a poly tarpaulin in the homeowner's utility class.

The specification is an 8x8 weave at 4.5 mil gauge. This is the entry-level poly tarp construction: the 8x8 thread count and 4.5 mil coating thickness make a tarp that is light enough to handle and spread single-handed, folds down small for storage, and costs little enough to be used for a job rather than curated for a decade.

Polyethylene is inherently waterproof and, unlike canvas, will not rot or mildew if it goes back in the truck damp. That property is what makes poly tarps the default for unplanned, short-notice covering work.
