The Loctite LOC2087069 is Loctite 567 PST thread sealant, high temperature, sealing all sizes of metal threaded pipe including stainless steel, 250 ml tube, white.

The stainless steel note is the specification worth pulling out, because it points at a real problem. Stainless threads gall — the flanks cold-weld under torque and the fitting seizes or shears. That is why stainless pipe fittings have a reputation, and it is why a sealant that also lubricates and separates the flanks is doing two jobs at once on stainless.

PST means Pipe Sealant with Teflon, and 567 is the high-temperature grade — for steam, hot oil, and process lines where standard sealants give up.

The argument against tape is the one that sells this product. PTFE tape shreds while being wrapped, and the fragments go downstream into valve seats, orifices, and control components, causing faults that take a day to trace. A liquid anaerobic has nothing to shred. Tape is also slippery enough that a taped fitting is easy to over-tighten, and over-tightening a tapered thread splits the female fitting.

At 250 ml this is the production tube rather than a bench size.

The cure is anaerobic: liquid in air, solid when air is excluded and metal is present.

Applications include process piping, steam, hydraulics, and stainless installations.
