The Guardair GUA75XT012AA is an Xtra Thrust safety air gun with a 12 inch aluminium extension and alloy nozzle.

Xtra Thrust is the specification that separates this range from the Long John series, and the difference is force rather than reach. Where a standard safety gun produces a controlled stream suited to clearing swarf and dust, an Xtra Thrust gun is engineered for higher output — the choice when the material being moved is heavy, wet, packed, or stuck. Blowing dry chips off a bench needs a modest stream; clearing packed coolant-soaked swarf out of a fixture does not.

The 12 inch extension puts that output past the hand and into the work.

The safety designation remains regulatory and is worth emphasising precisely because this gun produces more force. OSHA restricts compressed air used for cleaning to below 30 psi dead-end pressure, because air at line pressure driven through skin causes serious injection injury. A safety gun relieves pressure through ports when the tip is blocked, so it cannot dead-end at line pressure regardless of its thrust. Higher output does not mean higher dead-end pressure — it means more air moving when the tip is open.

Chip guarding and eye protection are required, and a higher-thrust gun throws material harder.

Aluminium keeps the extension light; the alloy nozzle resists wear.
