Fasco Motor 48 Frame D895

The Fasco D895 is a 48 frame motor supplied for fan, blower, and general drive applications in HVAC and commercial equipment.

The 48 frame is a NEMA standard frame designation, and that is what makes it useful. NEMA frame numbers define the mounting dimensions, shaft height, shaft diameter, and bolt hole spacing, so any 48 frame motor will physically fit any 48 frame mounting regardless of manufacturer.

This standardisation is why frame designations appear in specifications at all. Rather than matching a specific manufacturer's part, an installer can select any motor of the correct frame, horsepower, speed, voltage, and enclosure and know that it will mount.

What the frame designation does not specify is shaft length, enclosure type, rotation, or electrical characteristics, all of which still need checking. Nor does it cover the fractional-horsepower motors used in most direct-drive HVAC blowers, which are specified by frame diameter and belly band mounting instead.

Confirm horsepower, RPM, voltage, rotation, frame designation, shaft diameter and length, mounting arrangement, and enclosure type before ordering, and verify running current against nameplate on completion.
