CRC CRC03080 Grease 16 oz Off-White Aerosol 2 Lithium Stearate 0 to 300 °F

The CRC03080 is a sprayable lithium grease in a 16 oz aerosol with a 10 oz net fill, supplied 1 each with 12 per case. It is an NLGI 2 grease on a lithium stearate base, off-white in colour, with a specific gravity of 0.6257, a working temperature range of 0 to 300 °F, and a flash point of 0 °F.

Lithium grease is the default general-purpose grease across industry, and this is that chemistry in a sprayable form. Lithium stearate thickeners give a balanced combination of mechanical stability, water resistance, and pumpability across a broad range of ordinary applications — which is exactly why lithium became the standard rather than a specialty. Where an aluminum complex grease is specified for high heat or heavy washdown, lithium covers everything routine.

NLGI 2 is the standard consistency grade — the same firmness as the cartridge grease in a shop's grease gun.

The aerosol delivery is the practical difference. Lithium grease in a cartridge requires a zerk fitting. In an aerosol, the same chemistry reaches open gears, chains, cables, hinges, latches, slides, and linkages — components that need grease but were never designed to be pumped full of it.

The 0 °F flash point reflects the solvent carrier that thins the grease for spraying. It flashes off after application, leaving the grease behind. Eliminate ignition sources during use and allow the carrier to evaporate before returning equipment to service.
