Description
The CRC03055 is a food grade mineral oil lubricant supplied in a 16 oz aerosol with a 12 oz net fill, 1 each with 12 per case. It is a clear, water-white liquid with a flash point above 370 °F and a very slow evaporation rate.
The specification that stands out is the flash point above 370 °F. That figure is exceptionally high for an aerosol product and reflects a mineral oil formulation rather than a solvent-carried one. It is the specification to notice when the product will be used near heat, and it places the lubricant in a far more forgiving class than the solvent-based products alongside it in this range.
The very slow evaporation rate is the corresponding property. This lubricant is designed to stay where it is applied. There is no carrier flashing off to leave a thin deposit — what goes on remains as a lubricating oil film, which is what sustained lubrication of a moving contact actually requires.
Food grade status governs where it is permitted. Food processing equipment where incidental product contact is possible requires a lubricant formulated and approved for that exposure.
Mineral oil is the straightforward chemistry for general lubrication of metal contacts — bearings, chains, slides, hinges, and linkages — where silicone's non-stick properties are not required.
Applications include food and beverage processing, bakeries, bottling and packaging, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
