Connecting a 115 volt pump to a 230 volt supply destroys it immediately. The reverse, a 230 volt pump on 115 volts, will not run properly and may not run at all.

Confirming the supply voltage by measurement at the point of connection, rather than inferring it from the equipment nameplate or the building's general service, is the reliable approach.

The safety switch requires the same attention regardless of voltage. It must be wired into the equipment control circuit and tested by lifting the float.

Confirm voltage, flow rate at the required lift, tank capacity, inlet configuration, and switch wiring against the installation. Level and secure the pump and route the discharge to rise then fall continuously.
