The Hart & Cooley FPD 10 050504 is an FPD series steel lay-in ceiling diffuser with a 10 inch round neck, finished in white, for a 24 by 24 inch T-bar grid module.

A 10 inch neck carries a substantially higher airflow than the smaller sizes in the series, suiting open plan office areas, conference rooms, retail floors, and spaces with significant solar or equipment load where fewer outlets each handle more air.

The FPD flush plaque face gives a less visually prominent ceiling element than a cone diffuser while maintaining radial discharge along the ceiling surface. That surface adherence is what makes the diffuser work: air travelling along the ceiling entrains room air continuously, so that by the time it drops into the occupied zone it has mixed substantially and moderated in temperature. A diffuser that fails to establish ceiling adherence, typically because discharge velocity is too low for the neck size selected, dumps cool air directly downward and produces a cold spot beneath the outlet.

Throw should be checked against room geometry at this airflow. Excessive throw directs air onto walls or into adjacent diffuser patterns; insufficient throw leaves stagnant areas.

Applications include commercial offices, retail, hospitality, education, and healthcare facilities. Use an appropriate back pan, support the assembly independently of the ceiling grid, and seal the duct connection.
