DiversiTech Service Chemical Triple D 1 Gal SCM707-01

The DiversiTech SCM707-01 is a one gallon container of Triple D cleaning product for equipment maintenance.

Multi purpose cleaning products used around HVAC equipment need to be assessed against the surfaces and components they will contact, because equipment cabinets contain a wider variety of materials than most cleaning contexts.

A single air handler cabinet may include galvanised steel, painted steel, aluminium fins, copper tubing, plastic components and housings, elastomeric insulation, electrical insulation, and rubber grommets and gaskets. A cleaner suitable for one may attack another.

Aluminium is the most commonly damaged. Strongly alkaline cleaners attack aluminium, and coil fins are thin enough that the damage is significant rather than cosmetic.

Elastomeric insulation and rubber components are vulnerable to solvents, which cause swelling, hardening, or cracking.

Electrical components should not be sprayed with general cleaners at all, and any cleaning near them requires the equipment isolated and full drying before power is restored.

Rinsing requirements should be established before application. A product requiring rinsing that is applied where rinsing is impractical leaves residue that attracts soiling and may corrode.

Ventilation and personal protection follow the safety data sheet, and the sheet should be read rather than assumed.

Confirm material compatibility, dilution, dwell time, and rinsing requirements against the equipment and its components before use.
