CRC CRC03282 Corrosion Inhibitors 16 oz Dark Amber Aerosol

The CRC03282 is a corrosion inhibitor supplied in a 16 oz aerosol with a 10 oz net fill, 1 each with 12 per case. It is a dark amber, viscous liquid classified extremely flammable, with a flash point below 0 °F and a specific gravity of 0.787.

The viscous physical form is the specification that separates this from a light corrosion inhibitor, and it points to longer-term or harsher-exposure protection. A thin inhibitor film handles indoor storage; a viscous film has the body to stay on a vertical surface, resist washing off, and hold its barrier through outdoor exposure, transit, and extended layup. The trade-off is that a viscous film is more work to remove when the equipment comes back into service.

Corrosion protection works by exclusion — occupying the metal surface so moisture and oxygen cannot reach it. Coverage is everything, because corrosion begins wherever the film does not. The dark amber colour makes application visible so gaps can be seen rather than assumed.

The solvent carrier thins the product for spraying and carries it into seams, joints, and enclosed cavities before flashing off to leave the viscous film behind.

The flash point below 0 °F requires ignition sources to be eliminated and ventilation provided — particularly when treating enclosed sections, where vapour accumulates.

Applications include long-term equipment storage, seasonal layup, export and transit packing, marine equipment, dies and moulds, and exposed machined surfaces.
