The Scott KIM75190 is a disposable original shop towel, 12 inch wide by 10 inch long, 200 sheets.

Shop towels occupy a specific place between a paper towel and a rag, and the reason they exist is the job neither does well. A paper towel disintegrates on contact with oil and solvent. A cloth rag works and then has to be laundered, tracked, and — if it has been in solvent or oil — disposed of as a fire risk rather than thrown in a bin.

A disposable shop towel absorbs oil and grease, holds together while doing it, and gets thrown away. For automotive, maintenance, and machine shop work, that is the entire proposition.

The absorbency is the specification that separates a shop towel from paper: these are built to pick up oil and grease specifically, which is a different property from picking up water.
