The Lau 60765805 is a fan blade hub with a 5/8 inch bore for mounting propeller fan blades to motor shafts of that diameter.
Five eighths of an inch is a shaft size associated with larger commercial fan motors driving substantial propeller blades in rooftop condensers, cooling equipment, and industrial ventilation.
At this size, balance becomes a significant consideration. A large propeller blade carries meaningful rotating mass, and any imbalance produces a cyclic force at the bearings that increases with the square of speed. Imbalance arises from a blade that has been bent, from uneven corrosion, from deposits accumulated on one side, or from a hub that is not concentric on the shaft.
The practical checks during installation are that the blade is undamaged and free of deposits, that the hub seats squarely and fully on the shaft, that the set screw engages the flat, and that the assembly turns freely with even tip clearance around the orifice.
Vibration noted after installation should be investigated rather than accepted, since it will destroy the motor bearings.
