Lau Blower Wheel 111/8D 9/12W 1331701

The Lau 1331701 is an 11-1/8 inch diameter by 9-1/2 inch wide forward-curved blower wheel for direct-drive blower assemblies in furnaces, air handlers, and fan coil units.

The combination of larger diameter and moderate width suits applications requiring higher static pressure capability than a smaller wheel provides. Static pressure developed by a centrifugal fan is governed primarily by wheel diameter and rotational speed, while volumetric airflow is governed by width and speed. Selecting a wheel of the correct diameter therefore matters as much as matching width, and substituting a wheel of different diameter changes the fan curve rather than simply changing airflow.

Forward-curved construction gives high airflow at low tip speed and low noise, at the cost of sensitivity to blade fouling and to operation far from the design point.

Verify diameter, width, bore diameter, hub position, and rotation before ordering. Rotation is set by blade curvature and cannot be changed in the field.

During replacement, inspect the motor shaft for wear at the hub seat and check that the shaft flat is intact. Fitting a new wheel to a worn or scored shaft reproduces the loose-hub failure that usually caused the original wheel to need replacing.
