DiversiTech Wire Terminal Flag F QD 16-14 Non-Insulated.

The DiversiTech 6213CX is a non-insulated flag style female quick disconnect terminal for 16 to 14 gauge conductors, providing a right angle push-on connection.

The flag configuration is the distinguishing feature. On a standard disconnect the conductor exits in line with the tab; on a flag terminal it exits at ninety degrees. That geometry is what allows a connection to be made in shallow enclosures and against components where there is insufficient depth behind the tab for a conductor to run straight out. Contactor terminals, capacitor studs, and compressor terminal boxes routinely present exactly this constraint.

Being non-insulated, the terminal has a bare crimp barrel. This suits elevated temperature locations where a nylon or vinyl sleeve would degrade, and permits the installer to apply heat shrink sized to the application. It also demands attention to clearance, since the barrel and any exposed strands are live under power.

The 16-14 gauge range covers control wiring, fan and blower leads, capacitor connections, and light power circuits.

Tab width must match the mating terminal. The common .187 and .250 inch sizes look similar and are frequently confused. A mismatched pair makes loose contact, generates heat under load, anneals the spring temper of the female terminal, and progresses toward a burned connection.

Applications include contactor and capacitor connections, compressor terminal boxes, blower and motor leads, and confined equipment wiring in HVAC and refrigeration service.
