The Venti SC5-36MM44 is a 36 inch coated flexible gas connector supplied for gas appliance connection.

Where a gas connector is routed determines how long it lasts, and the position it occupies is usually behind an appliance where nobody will look at it again for years.

Several conditions shorten its life. Contact with sharp sheet metal edges at the back of an appliance abrades the coating and eventually the tube. Proximity to a hot flue or an uninsulated exhaust component heats it. Standing in a location where spills collect keeps it wet. Being crushed between the appliance and the wall when the unit is pushed back stresses it at a single point.
