The PIP PIN1448 is a pair of Caiman cow split aluminized stick welding gloves in premium cow split leather with Kevlar thread, black and gold, large, 1 pair per bag and 60 pair per case.

The aluminized backing is the specification and it works on a principle distinct from everything else in a welding glove.

Leather protects against contact — sparks, spatter, and hot metal touching the hand. It does nothing about radiant heat, which is a different mechanism entirely: infrared energy travelling from the arc and the hot work to the welder's hand across an air gap. A stick welder holding an electrode close to a large hot joint takes that radiation continuously, and leather simply absorbs it and gets hot.

An aluminized surface reflects it. That is the entire function, and it is why aluminized gloves exist for high-amperage stick, foundry, and furnace work where the heat arrives without touching anything.

Cow split leather is the standard welding glove hide — thicker and more heat resistant than grain leather, at the cost of dexterity, which is the correct trade for stick welding.

Kevlar thread is not incidental. Cotton or polyester thread burns through and the glove opens at the seam while the leather is still perfectly good.

Applications include stick welding, high-amperage work, foundry, and furnace operations.
