Description
The Milwaukee MIL2626-22 is an M18 cordless lithium-ion multi-tool kit with LED light, including two M18 REDLITHIUM XC extended capacity batteries, an M18 and M12 multi-voltage charger, an adapter, assorted sanding sheets, a contractor bag, a sanding pad, and a wood cutting blade.
An oscillating multi-tool works by vibrating a blade through a very small arc at high frequency rather than rotating it, and that difference is what makes it capable of things no other tool does.
The signature job is the plunge cut into a finished surface. A circular saw cannot start a cut in the middle of a floor without a plunge base and a lot of nerve. A multi-tool blade goes straight in, cuts to a line, and stops — square corners included. Cutting out a section of drywall, trimming door casings for flooring, removing grout, and flush-cutting a nail against a surface are all jobs with no real alternative.
The trade is speed. A multi-tool is slow at everything. It is a tool for precision and access, not production.
The multi-voltage charger is worth noting: it charges both M18 and M12 packs, which matters for anyone running both platforms.
Two XC batteries means one charging while one works.
Applications include remodelling, finish carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
