The combination here is unusual and worth reading carefully: Kevlar and steel yarn at 18 gauge, achieving cut level A3.

Eighteen gauge is a very fine knit — thin, dexterous, and light. Getting A3 out of a knit that fine is what the steel filament buys. Steel is extremely cut resistant because a blade cannot sever a wire the way it parts a polymer fibre, so a small amount of steel in the yarn does what a lot of polymer would need bulk to achieve. Kevlar contributes cut resistance and heat tolerance without melting.
