MCR Safety MCR9318D7T 7 Gauge 18" Gray Dyneema sleeve Thumb Slot

The MCR Safety MCR9318D7T is a 7 gauge, 18 inch gray Dyneema sleeve with a thumb slot, case quantity 120.

The sleeve is the piece of cut protection that gets skipped, and skipping it is why forearm lacerations are common in glass, sheet metal, and fabrication work. Gloves protect hands. The forearm is bare, and the forearm is what drags across a sheet edge as the hand reaches past it.

The thumb slot is the detail that makes it work. Without one, a sleeve rides up the arm with every reach and ends up bunched at the elbow — leaving exactly the area it was meant to cover. A thumb slot anchors it at the wrist, which also closes the gap between sleeve and glove where a cut would otherwise land.

Dyneema is ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene, and it is remarkable stuff: extremely cut resistant for its weight, and cool against the skin, which matters for a garment worn on the forearm all day. Aramid alternatives are hot.

Note the 7 gauge specification. Gauge describes knit density — lower numbers mean heavier yarn, more material, and more protection at the cost of flexibility. At 7 gauge this is a heavy sleeve.
