Description
The Jackson Safety JKSS96110 is a pair of Sellstrom KneePro Ultra Flex III knee pads in grey and orange.
Knee pads are protective equipment that people opt out of, and the reason is always the same: pads that are uncomfortable, that slip down, or that make walking awkward get left in the van. Which means the design features that keep a pad on the knee are doing more safety work than the padding itself.
The hazard is worth stating because it is cumulative and invisible. Kneeling on hard surfaces damages the knee over years, not moments — bursitis, cartilage wear, and chronic pain are the outcome, and nobody feels the day it started. Flooring, roofing, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work all involve hours on the knees, and the workers who did it without pads know about it in their fifties.
The Ultra Flex designation refers to a hinged or articulated construction, which addresses the slipping problem directly: a rigid pad fights the knee as it bends and works its way down the leg. A pad that flexes with the joint stays put.
Orange gives visibility on a worker who spends time low to the ground, where they are easy to miss.
Applications include flooring, roofing, tiling, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work.
