The 24 square inch window is the specification that defines this helmet and it is the opposite design philosophy from the Pipeliner's small lens. A wide vision window shows the welder the joint, the surrounding work, and the puddle's context all at once. For bench work, structural fabrication, and any welding where there is room to work, that field of view means less repositioning, better control of the puddle relative to the joint, and a welder who can see what is coming rather than only what is under the arc.

The trade-off is bulk. A large window needs a large shell, and a large shell does not fit into the confined positions a Pipeliner is built for. Choose on the work, not on the window size.

The shade 10 lens is the general-purpose welding shade, suited to a broad range of stick and MIG work at moderate amperage. Higher amperage requires a darker shade.

Thermoplastic construction keeps weight down, which matters over a full shift — helmet weight is a real fatigue factor on the neck.
