Hart & Cooley 821 14X8 075019 White Vertical Supply

The Hart & Cooley 75019 is an 821 series vertical supply register measuring 14 by 8 inches nominal, finished in white.

Sidewall supply registers, which is the typical application for this series, are positioned high on a wall in most installations. That height is deliberate: supply air introduced high in a room mixes with room air as it travels and descends gradually, whereas air introduced low reaches occupants directly at supply temperature.

The height also determines what throw is required. A register high on a wall must project air far enough into the room that it is well mixed before it descends into the occupied zone, and a register with insufficient throw for the room will drop cool air along the wall beneath it, producing a cold zone directly below the outlet.

Where this is observed in an existing installation, the causes are usually either a register too large for the airflow, giving low discharge velocity, or a balancing damper throttled to the point that velocity has fallen below what the register needs to establish its pattern.

At 14 by 8 inches the register carries a moderate to substantial supply airflow.

Applications include residential and light commercial sidewall supply outlets.
