The Guardair GUA75LJ024AA is a Long John safety air gun with a 24 inch aluminium extension and alloy nozzle.

Two feet of reach puts this toward the long end of the range, and it exists for work where the target is genuinely remote: deep inside machine enclosures, down into pits and sumps, along conveyor runs, into ductwork, or behind fixed guarding that would otherwise have to be removed.

That last case is worth drawing out. Guarding is removed for cleaning far more often than anyone admits, and every removal is a chance to leave it off. A tool that reaches through or past the guard removes the temptation.

The trade is aim. A 24 inch wand is harder to point precisely than a short one, and the mass at the end makes it more tiring to hold up. Choose the shortest extension that reaches — not the longest available.

The safety designation is a regulatory requirement. OSHA restricts compressed air used for cleaning to below 30 psi dead-end pressure, because air at shop line pressure driven through skin causes serious injection injury. A safety gun relieves pressure through ports when the tip is blocked. An ordinary blow gun does not. Chip guarding and eye protection remain required regardless.

Aluminium keeps a 24 inch extension manageable; the alloy nozzle resists wear.
