DiversiTech Toggle Switch D.P. ED1232

The DiversiTech ED1232 is a double pole toggle switch for general purpose electrical and equipment control applications. A double pole configuration switches two separate circuit conductors simultaneously from a single actuator, allowing both legs of a 240 volt single phase load to be broken at once or two independent circuits to be controlled together.

Double pole switching is preferred wherever full circuit isolation is needed for safety or where a load is supplied by two ungrounded conductors. Breaking only one leg of a 240V circuit leaves the equipment energized with respect to ground, which creates a hazard during service work. A double pole switch removes both legs, providing genuine isolation at the point of control.

Toggle switches remain common in HVAC and refrigeration service because they give unambiguous mechanical position feedback. A technician can confirm the state of the circuit visually and by feel, without meters, which is useful in equipment rooms, walk-in boxes, and rooftop enclosures.

Typical applications include service switches at air handlers and furnaces, disconnect and control functions in equipment panels, light and fan control in mechanical spaces, walk-in cooler and freezer light circuits, and general purpose panel building. The switch is also used for retrofit and repair where an original manufacturer switch has failed.

Verify voltage and amperage ratings against the connected load before installation, allowing appropriate margin for inrush on inductive loads such as motors. Mount in an approved enclosure, terminate conductors securely, and confirm the installation satisfies local electrical code and any applicable equipment listing.
