DiversiTech 3/8X50 Truck Rope 25001

The DiversiTech 25001 is a 3/8 inch by 50 foot truck rope for securing loads and general utility use.

Rope on a service vehicle is used for securing loads, guiding equipment during positioning, temporary restraint, and general utility.

Load securing has legal requirements in most jurisdictions, and an unsecured or inadequately secured load is both an offence and a genuine hazard to other road users. Equipment shifting in a vehicle is also a hazard to the occupants during braking.

Rope has limitations for load securing that ratchet straps do not. Rope stretches, particularly synthetic rope under sustained tension, so a load tied down tightly may be loose after a few miles. Knots reduce rope strength substantially, in some cases by half, and the knot's holding depends entirely on it being tied correctly.

Ratchet straps maintain tension, have marked working load limits, and are generally the appropriate choice for securing loads in transit.

Rope remains useful for guiding, temporary restraint, and countless site tasks.

The critical limitation is that general utility rope must never be used for lifting or supporting people, or for any application where failure would cause injury. Rope for those purposes is rated, certified, and inspected.

Confirm the rope's material, diameter, and stated working load suit the use, inspect for abrasion, cuts, and degradation before each use, and replace rope showing damage.
